Freeze! Ice cream gets fruity
When brownie meets sorbet, expect one frozen affair that will tease and please you. Part fruit, part chocolate, part gooeyness, and part frozen love, Haagen-Dazs has created this dark chocolate orange brownie to make sure you’ll never have brownie (or ice cream) the same way again.
This brownie temptation is actually an affair of twos. There are the brownies. There is the sorbet. And there is another scoop of ice cream you will also find yourself devouring like there’s no tomorrow.
The brownies, studded with morsels of macadamia nuts, stand in triangles, letting a wave of chocolate fudge wash over them. They’re crowned with a scoop of frozen sun, a mango sorbet that mingles tart with sweet. There is some freshly whipped cream and a small pot of chocolate sauce. Then, there is that other scoop of ice cream, so dark, so mysterious, and yes, so orangey.
Dark Chocolate Orange is the newest flavor in the Haagen-Dazs line of fine gourmet ice cream. It is creamy dark chocolate ice cream that’s mixed with bits of candied orange rinds for that refreshing citrus tinge. The dark chocolate ice cream itself is made of fine Belgian chocolate. The result is a dark chocolate ice cream that’s intense, fruity and addictive.
If not a brownie, have a waffle, a Haagen-Dazs Caramel Apple Summer Waffle. There are slices of warm crisp waffles on the plate. On the side is the new Haagen-Dazs caramel apple crumble ice cream — caramel ice cream mixed with applesauce and buttery crumble pieces. It’s so good, it’s almost like Mom’s apple pie! There’s also a scoop of Haagen-Dazs vanilla ice cream that’s made with vanilla from Madagascar and Indonesia. And then there are green apple slices to give your waffle a bit more apple crunch.
Another waffle temptation is the fruity Passion Waffle Delight. Crisp Belgian waffles are served with fresh slices of seasonal fruit and scoops of Haagen-Dazs mango and passion fruit ice cream as well as strawberry ice cream.
From a brownie to a waffle to a “bruffin”! Haagen-Dazs bakes fresh bruffins daily. What’s that? It’s a muffin that’s filled with a gooey brownie center. Have a piece with a steaming cup of Haagen-Dazs Affogato. Here, any ice cream of your choice is scooped into a cup before being doused with good strong espresso. Just like a fondue, the cup is then kept warm underneath a little fire where you can watch the ice cream melt into pure fresh vanilla cream.
For a drink that’s fruity and frothy, there is also the tall glass of Haagen-Dazs Mango Smoothie. Another new fruity treat is the Melon Strawberry Paradise with a huge scoop of Haagen-Dazs melon ice cream served alongside baby scoops of strawberry ice cream and some fresh slices of melon and strawberry.
At its newest branch in SM Mall of Asia, Haagen-Dazs opens at 10 a.m. If you’re a late riser, have a brownie, waffle or bruffin for your late breakfast. Don’t miss the ice cream, too. A scoop of Haagen-Dazs is a cool way to start your day.
