As we snail our way to traffic this season, rush to meet deadlines and face last-minute shopping, we at YStyle do not cease from celebrating this season and treating our highly regarded contributors. Last week we celebrated w ith a relaxing shindig at the Director’s Club at MOA for a special screening of Fred Claus — a heartwarming and humorous tale for the holidays, especially for those ready to climb up the wall due to the madness of the season. The highlight of the evening was when Motorola generously donated must-have stylist phones to raffle off to our dear contributors.
And to our dear contributors, without your dedication to our vision, the YStyle section wouldn’t be where it is now.
Ciara Serumgard
Ciara wears something from Patty Eustaquio’s ‘07 collection; her jewelry is from the Mercuri series, which is made of hematite and yellow gold. Ciara is a jewelry designer.
Ney Guese
Hair stylist Ney wears a top from Australian brand Industries. His inspiration is graphic poinsettia.
Niccolo Cosme
Photographer Niccolo wears a Maldita Man plum long-sleeve shirt and vest; his necklace is from the UK. A peasant Italian boy who went to harvest a Motorola phone was how he dubbed his look.
Sep Mahino
Sep’s festive style is about easy-on, easy-off clothes in bright colors. Her blue wrap dress is from Regatta and her shoes are from Schu. She is a regular YStyle contributor
Ton Lao
A stylist, Ton wears a shirt from Ben Sherman and pants from Topshop. His accessories are a watch and Buddha beads, which he wears all the time and can’t leave home without; it’s his “protection.”
Leo Posadas
Leo’s outfit is a mix of items from Zara, Topshop and Viktor Jeans plus a boom-box pendant to brighten up the shirt. His peg is happy colors inspired by the celebration of abundance.
Jo Ann Bitagcol
Photographer/model Jo Ann wears a Burberry dress from ukay and a Margiela necklace that is a gift from her boyfriend Tadi. She is rarely seen in a dress; that is why her outfit is her own festive style expression.
Mickey See
Shu Uemura makeup artist Micky is wearing a top from Topshop and pants from H&M in Hong Kong. He makes it a point to wear happy and bright colored outfits during the holiday season.
Happy David
Accessories designer Happy wears a printed hoodie from People Are People, an embroidered knit dress, tights from H&M and black python sandals from Zara.
Jigs Mayuga
Jigs wears a T-shirt from Samuel and Kevin, jeans from Lee and high-top trainers from Converse, a skull ring and necklace from H&M and a black watch from Marc Jacobs. A chief makeup artist for L’Oreal Paris, his holiday style is very comfortable and casual.
Charles Lu
Charles wears a Zara shirt, jacket from Seven jeans, Dolce & Gabanna sneakers and a Chinese newspaper-inspired belt. As a photographer, his style is whatever makes him happily comfortable.
Claire Diokno
Claire wears an off-the-rack fiesta red and white floral printed tube from Topshop, a white and gold hoodie from Baby Phat and shoes from Zara. Since there is a lot going on with the dress, she decides to accessorize with a single piece: a vintage Florentine gold ball on a chain, given by her mother. She loves the piece because it is her way of expressing her style without being over the top. Claire is a Shu Uemura makeup artist.
Maureen Disini
Maureen is into somber hues but is wearing color for a change. Her J.Lo style peg is J-Lo from the block, which is why she wears a striped shirt from the US and shorts from Mphosis layered with her sister’s puffy jacket. To add to her look is an LV scarf with hoop earrings from Rustan’s. Maureen is the fashion editor of Philippine Tatler.
Ricky Diokno
A hairstylist for Kiehl’s, Ricky wears an orange-striped button-down shirt and a pair of kick-ass jeans that he found in Hong Kong plus a pullover from Folded & Hung. His festive style peg is pairing a bright color with a subdued hue. He decides not to wear accessories since the jeans are busy enough.
