Shanghai calling!

FROM COFFEE TO COCKTAILS - Celine Lopez -

The Motorola is as ubiquitous as a Chanel bag.

Remember Denise Richard cussing out Charlie Sheen on her pink RAZR? Perhaps Mischa Barton and Hilary Duff clutching their purses, puppies and Dolce & Gabbana RAZRs with much aplomb? If you are the better type of human being who cannot digest tabloid fodder, Motorola is still all over the place. It saved the world in Mission Impossible: 3 and gave justice to Jason Bourne in the Bourne Ultimatum.

Now we have more to look forward to. Motorola flew Team Philippines to Shanghai for the launch of the RAZR 2 — a sleek and obscenely sexy phone that doubles anything that your old Moto can do! Kristin Davis of Sex and the City fame was the guest of honor.

During a sit-down interview, Kristin Davis was just like her character Charlotte in Sex and the City, which was both unnerving and charming. “I think there’s something very Orwellian when you have the same phones as the rest,” she chirped. “I like that I can make this phone fit my personality.” Kristin waved two RAZR 2 phones, drawing envious stares! “My character in Sex and the City used Motorola phones all the time and I look forward to using it in the movie, if ever…” she hinted. The ultimate fashion movie of the year will start shooting in the fall.

The phone has a crystal receiver which filters out unwanted noise producing better sound. Add to that a sexy new look and more user-friendly features.

The event itself was a techno-crazed rave. It came complete with a Robo stripper and lots of delicious Mojitos. The pool of the Portman Ritz Carlton was transformed into a slick mercury pond, where fantasy and reality came together.

RAZR 2 is set to land on our shores soon, and the waitlist is getting longer. Like Motorola, don’t be a follower but a leader!
