YStyle is devoting an entire issue to art and fashion. From celebrated figures in the arts to young up-and-coming artists, like photographer Isa Lorenzo who currently has an exhibit at the UNESCO headquarters in Paris, it’s clear that Filipino artists are on the rise.
For our cover, stylist Karla Alindahao sourced art from local luminaries like Gabby Barredo who fashioned an eggshell bustier. In between pricey works of art, Karla threw in some affordable pieces from Zara. Thanks to the impressive beading of Yvonne Quisumbing-Romulo, her garments retain a sense of artistry. The designer is known for her wearable art pieces and her ability to combine unusual elements with beautiful tailoring.
It doesn’t take a master’s degree in fine arts to appreciate all the Filipino artist has to offer. All it takes is an open mind and an adventurous soul.
