Unless youre one of cable TVs Iron Chefs, peppering a cherry is hardly a recipe that would receive gastronomic acclaim. But for three fashion lovers, peppered cherry is set to spell a formula for success.
Peppered Cherry is one of the quaint lifestyle shops in Shops at Serendra, and is an ode to a new brand of retail by sisters-in-law Jasmin, Regina, and Rachel Magsajo. The boutique, reminiscent of old-style boudoirs, is as woman-friendly as it can get, particularly for the woman with a chic, eclectic streak within her. Wallpaper dotted with dainty flowers complement carved, white-washed furniture, floral upholstery, and intricate wrought-iron décor are all fitting accents to clothing and accessories branded with a touch of uniqueness and femininity. Peppered Cherrys merchandise allows women to indulge in being womanly without resorting to the usual sleek, slinky get-ups that bare ones femininity as well as an ample amount of skin. Forties-inspired printed shirtdresses, delicate obi belts, girlish sundresses, and adorned tote bags line the shelves. Add-ons include summery espadrilles, modish flats, and ethnic necklaces and accessories.
Aside from promoting the eclectic, Peppered Cherry also champions young local design talent. A slew of up-and-coming Pinoy designers consign with the store, such as accessory designers Cathy de Leon, Cole Vintage, and Cara Gadi. The boutique also gives premium display to a creation by a design upstart, a new design feature every other month. The first designer is on exhibit is John Herrera, one of the newest members of the Young Designers Guild, fast becoming known for his structured silhouettes and deconstructed inclinations. According to Rachel, anyone interested in Johns designs can set an appointment with him in the shop.
The charming fashion haven also carries particular pieces from lifestyle brands collected from around the world. Flamingo Sands, the uber-chic, highly colorful swimwear brand from Australia is only available in two locales in the country; Peppered Cherry is one of them. The boutique also carries Brazilian footwear brand Brazilano Praia, and sells select pieces from New York and Korea.
Pick up a clue from the boutiques name: Peppered Cherry is meant to put some spice into something sweet and bright. Indulge in what they have to offer and come up with a flavor all your own.
Peppered Cherry is located on the 2nd level of Shops at Serendra, Fort Bonifacio Global City, Taguig.
