The Shoe Fits!

HSBC recently invited seven stylish city gals who showed off their fave shoes in an exhibit set up at the Museum Shop of Ayala Museum to launch the HSBC RED MasterCard’s "Love Shoes?" campaign. This allows newly-approved RED MasterCard primary applicants to pick a free pair of Janylin shoes worth up to Php1,600! To underscore women’s passion for shoes, the seven gals were also asked to accessorize their choice of Janylin shoes, which they later modeled for those who attended the event.

What kind of shoe should Cinderella wear to the ball?
Cinderella should wear shoes that will make her feel confident, sexy and feminine – definitely stilettos, then!

Weekends are definitely for flats, while office attire would be heels.

What would you do if one of your heels broke?
I would break the other heel and look for a good cheap buy that I can use for the meantime.

Very Imelda! I get to wear the first pair that comes out from our factory. I have a pair of almost every style that you see in Janylin.

If you were to design Dorothy’s Ruby Slippers, how would it look?
I’d redesign them as ballerina flats in red suede with red satin ribbons that crisscrossed or laced up the ankles.

When choosing my shoes, I go for quality paired with comfort and style.

Would you wear a glass slipper to a ball?
Yes, if it felt like my favorite pair of sneakers!

Did you think Cinderella’s glass slippers looked good with her gown?
It would have looked better if they were embellished with Swarovski crystals or, even more spectacular, diamond studded à la Stuart Weitzman!

Do you think Cinderella made the right decision, leaving her shoe behind?
It wasn’t a decision. It was more of instinct to survive or to avoid the ire of her relations. But fate was on her side, so she lived happily ever after.

Neither. I think Cinderella should wear peep-toe shoes to the ball. That way she can give the prince a sneak peek of her newly-pedicured and polished toes.
