Lifestyle Asias ball for a cause
December 30, 2005 | 12:00am
The lights turned up at the Sierra Madre Ballroom of Fort Ilocandia to welcome guests and prominent families of Ilocos to the Gameng Museo Ilocos Norte benefit dinner organized by Lifestyle Asia magazine. Distinguished guests poured in the lobby garbed in lavish Abel Iloco as they made their way through the Spanish-Moroccan-inspired halls decked with flowers and glistening chandeliers. Duhat wine and Ilocano cornicks were served while guests were being welcomed by friends of the museum. Tables were beautifully adorned with a centerpiece of bamboo on mountain rice with an atang cup on top.
Museo Ilocos Norte head Araceli Drake opened the festivities and Ilocos Norte Governor Ferdinand Marcos Jr. welcomed guests with a short speech underscoring the essence of the evenings celebration. "Think that you are not only having a rather fancy dinner but also that you are helping us celebrate the traditions, the culture and the history of Ilocos Norte," he said.
Ana Ventura Remigio
How would you encourage the public to value our historical monuments?
Through information dissemination. Start with grade school until college. Its important to know our own heritage.

Well, were in Ilocos Norte so I should be bringing them to historic places here like the Paoay Church, Pagudpod beach and the Bell Tower of Laoag.

No, and I think we should so that we dont keep repeating the same mistakes.
Arlene de Guzman

Being in the hotel business, we bring our tourists to these places so that they can appreciate it. By doing so, we encouraged them to give a donation that can be added to the money thats being used in preserving it.
Lilibeth Rabago
Which Filipino values towards the elderly should we proudly sustain in our everyday lives?
Respect which we show our elders. Its no longer modern to say "Mano po" to the elderly.

Through my own simple way of promoting our beautiful spots particularly in Pagudpod to our friends in Manila, especially to our business partners and friends.

The gesture of mano. Because nowadays most kids seldom show respect to their parents.
