Random Tidbits
September 30, 2005 | 12:00am
In the absence of two coherent thoughts being wed in this authors brain thus producing a progeny of prose that somehow entertains him (if no one else), we present random tidbits jotteddown that we never felt or had the inspiration enough to bloat into at least 500 words to justify a paycheck for an article. Hope you dont take it against us too much: rest assured, we will soon regain our faculties soon and hopefully just in time for next weeks deadline.
On Mariah Carey:
Shes staring to look like RuPaul but the guys got better tunes.
On Our Dog:
We named him Vinterberg after the Dogme 95 director and like the upstart Dane hes forcing us to act under his conditions, freeing us from the tyranny of our personal aesthetics (all my socks have more hole than sock, our sofa is a patchwork of bite-marks, urine and dirt, all sorts of barriers blockade our staircases) and turning nights grainy enough for insomnia. We plan to have a second dog and call him Lars well never learn.
On Kris Aquinos billboards:
Her neck seems unnaturally long. Is this a Pinocchio effect? Gasp! Is her smile a lie?
On Veronica Mars:
Possibly one of the best shows on TV today. Then why am I the only guy watching it?
On Ed:
One of the most annoyingly heartwarming things on Cable TV (why are they now playing reruns?) Im not wondering why Im the only guy watching it. But before you judge me, read
On the Dave Mustaine Part in the Metallica Documentary Some Kind of Monster
Whoever thought that guys responsible for metal albums such as "Kill Em All," "Killing is my Business and Business is Good!" could be such sissies? In therapy, both Lars Ulrich and Dave Mustaine are doing their best to hold the tears back with words like "I know the pain I caused you "
On Seeing the Itchyworms for the first time last saturday:
Man, where have I been? Any band that can segue from Apo-esque ditty to a variation of Seek and Destroy to cap it all off with harmonizing is really something to lend your wholehearted support to! Its a crime that they arent the superstars that they deserve to be. Well, of course, Champ is really much better looking than any of them
