Guys love it, too

CHEERS! - DJ Montano -
My first encounter with Kiehl’s was a few years ago while on vacation in the US. I was out with a few friends on a winter night. I had forgotten my lip balm and my lips had started to ache from the chilly and windy weather. It was by fate that my friend took out his Kiehl’s Lip Balm #1 and instantly my lips were brought to absolute lip-soothing heaven. That encounter also started what has become my long-term addiction to this fantastic brand.

Kiehl’s started as a 19th century apothecary in 1851. It supplied New Yorkers with pharmaceutical tonics and medicinal salves culled from natural ingredients. The pharmacy first opened under the ownership of John Kiehl, which became the store’s name. His one-time apprentice, Irving Morse, purchased the company in 1921. Morse has since brought much fame and acclaim to Kiehl’s by discovering America’s first fluoride treatment. He helped develop penicillin and an ingredient that helped fight tuberculosis. Through three generations of Morses, Kiehl’s has become one of the most historical and respected brands in the United States. In 1979, the Smithsonian Institute featured over 103 Kiehl’s products, many of which have become part of the institution’s permanent archive. In 2000, to keep up with overwhelming product demand, Kiehl’s joined forces with recognized beauty industry leader L’Oreal.

What I constantly love about Kiehl’s is its die-hard commitment to developing high quality products and excellent customer service. I always find it such a treat to go to a Kiehl’s store and get genuine personalized service. I always get honest advice on what I really need and I never feel coerced into buying anything. I shared this personal opinion during an interview with Cammie Cannella, Kiehl’s company spokesperson, and she was glad to hear it because that is one of the things that Kiehl’s really aspires to. She mentioned that at the core of Kiehl’s service is the company mission that inspires all its employees to give customers their best. Add to that the great samples that they always generously give away with any Kiehl’s purchase.

The brand has got a huge male following, given that it has a huge line of products that cater specially to men’s skincare. It’s got a long list of male celebrity users, too. Actors Peter Fonda, Allan Cumming, Jake Gyllenhaal, singers Lenny Kravitz and Andre 3000 and super marathon athletes Christopher Bergland and Dean Karnazes all use their products.
Man Made

Kiehl’s Multi-Purpose Facial Formula for Men

This cooling alcohol-free product contains Squalene, Mineral Clays, Vitamin E and Eucalyptus Extract that moisturizes, protects, brightens, enhances and mattifies skin. What more could you ask for?

Ultimate Brushless Shaving Cream

I swear I have not used any other shaving cream brand for years. I’ve really never had a smoother nor closer shaving experience than with Kiehl’s. Its special formulation of Menthol and Camphor leaves skin soft and smooth. Use with its perfect pair, The Ultimate Aftershave Balm and Moisturizer.

Facial Fuel

I’ve only been using this light moisturizer for weeks and I’m totally hooked. I think it’s the perfect moisturizer to use during the day, due to our humid climate. It doesn’t leave my facial skin heavy or oily like most other brands do. It’s also great for waking up dull, fatigued skin from a heavy night out.
The Joy Of Unisex
Many of Kiehl’s unisex products are also very popular with guys. I’ve been using Kiehl’s Crème with Silk Groom for the hair for years now. I like it because of its light texture. It binds those stubborn fly-aways and gives hair that well-groomed, healthy look. Here are a few more unisex products that have become the favorite of many guys.

Calendula Toner

A very effective, alcohol-free toner formulated with pure, soothing herbal extracts. Also contains Burdock extracts, known for its soothing properties. Excellent for use after shaving to improve the appearance of problem areas.

Abyssine Eye Cream

Formulated with survival molecules and other naturally-derived ingredients to soothe and protect against fatigue and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles in the eye area.

Tea Tree Oil Body Cleanser

This amazing cleanser is actually a natural preservative – think of what it can do to your skin. It gently cleanses your body with mild agents and herbal extracts.

Blue Astringent Toner

Its original formula dating back 1964 has made this product iconic as a super soothing toner. An absolute must-have. It has inspired Kiehl’s to come out with The Blue Astringent Series, a skincare line for people with oilier, blemish-prone skin.
