Dress up to the Eighties

CIRCUIT TRAINING - JR Isaac -
It’s simply hysterical! We’ve got Madonna, not Mariah, Pet Shop Boys, not the Backstreet Boys, U2, not F4." These words were written on the invitation to celebrate Dream Bar@6750’s first anniversary of DecaDance. It was a perfect excuse for the fun-driven personalities of Manila to party on a Thursday night. Decorated with the classic mirror ball and mural images of ’80s icons, Dream Bar was indeed a time warp experience. Everyone was singing proudly, which certainly revealed their age! I could not help but sing along and find out which '80s songs were their favorites.

NIGEL GREETHAM

Who will you call your Buttercup?

Naturally my partner, who is the butter on my toast and the cup that holds my coffee!

FAYE PERALTA

Who will you Dress You Up as for an Eighties night?

Madonna of course! Because I am always into the groove!

CHRISTINE GELLA

Tenderness
will be applied on which body part?

Wherever it is Simply Irresistible!

KAREN JACOBO

Where will you go if Girls Just Wanna Have Fun?

No doubt, it will be at Dream@6750, where we can relive the '80s.

MIKOY ZOZOBRADO

Who will you talk dirty to on the Telephone?

I will talk dirty with Eddie Gil because everything we will talk about is nonsense, and at the end of the day, I can check if my sanity is still intact!

JENNY CAMPOS

Who will you command to Whip It good?

Brad Pitt as Achilles. I am very sure everyone who watched the movie will agree that he can whip it pretty darn well. Bring it on Brad! Or my friend Chris Rodriguez, who is a chef, he can whip up a hot and creamy Decadent Cake! Or any jock. There’s nothing like riding and whipping a strong, hard, stallion in between your legs!

CHRIS RODRIGUEZ

Who will you beg and tell Relax If You Wanna Come?

It will be Buffy the Vampire Slayer because she seriously needs to get some and I will drive a "steak" through her. And it would be for my friend Jenny Campos because I would tell her to relax when I would "come up" with an orgasmic dessert worth salivating for! She will get extremely excited and can’t wait to try my creation.

BOBBY TANJUATCO

Who will you say Beat It to on a Friday night?

Over aged disco queens, because their time has come and they should move on! And unseasoned party people because they should get into the program, plus they take up bar space! Drink-nursers because bars need the revenue, and professional sex workers and/or their look- and dress-alikes, since we want a clean city. And unsociable night owls!

PIT-PIT MERCADO

When are you Turning Japanese?

It is when someone starts looking like an anime character with really funky hair and outrageous outfits. It is also coming out from your closet looking like Astroboy or Pikachu on a good day. Plus having a fetish for used underwear!

PENNY ANNE TANDOG

Who will you go out with to Rock With You All Night?

For sure, it would be Andy McCarthy, because we can relive that ’80s pretty in pink prom night at the Biltmore Hotel.

The Circuit Training Events Pick

This Saturday weekend you have two party picks to choose from, if you decide to hang out in Makati, then be at the Perfection Party, the Philippine launch party of Dunhill Cigarettes at 7 p.m., 40th floor of the RCBC Plaza, Ayala Avenue. Be in the loop with the "cosmocrats" as they celebrate the good life with live performances of La Carlotta drummers with Pinikpikan and Rada, plus music by DJ Anton Ramos. That night will also be the unveiling of Ramon Orlina’s newest sculpture, as commissioned by Dunhill.

Or drive towards Roxas Boulevard for Studio 23’s Bay Break Street Party at the Baywalk. Experience al fresco partying at the famous Manila bay strip and enjoy the tropical sea breeze, an alternative gimmick for the typical weekend in the city. Watch 50 artists perform live in different camps, a wide selection to fit your kind of music and vibe. Be there and witness a spectacular musical celebration.
