Where in the city?

CIRCUIT TRAINING - JR Isaac -
With Manila’s constantly fluctuating nightlife, there must always be a place that comes to mind when a particular urge strikes. Tried and tested or exciting and new, there are venues that serve distinct desires, and I dug out the places that do it for these people:

Veronica Callanta

Where do you meet your blind date for cocktails?

I am very particular with the places to go to; it must have the right ambience, good music, and impressive cocktail list. My choices are Nuvo and Magnum.

Leah Sanchez

Where do you go for a quality selection of wine?

The Edsa Shangri-La hotel has a good selection of wine, particularly at Carpaccio restaurant and Churchill Cigar Lounge. And in the Greenbelt area, Nuvo has interesting selections too.

Melissa Chua

Where do you chill-out on Sunday nights?

Normally it would be after watching Will & Grace around 9 p.m., or a nice cup of coffee at Seattle's Best with my friends.

Johan Ekedum

Where do you go for a meal after a night of dancing?

It really depends on what my stomach craves for, which are either at North Park for a nice oriental meal, or Rufo’s for a local flavor specially the tapsilog! But again it also depends on who I am with!

Junel Liwanag

Where do you take your buddies for beer and barbeque?

I'd definitely bring my buddies to the Bay Walk at Roxas Boulevard since beer and barbeque are priced reasonably, plus the seaside ambience is free of charge. People- watching can also be interesting at the promenade.

Wanggo Gallaga

Where do you go to listen to live band entertainment?

Instead of listening to show bands, I prefer heading to Capone's for the alternative band Velcro, and acoustic night at Yaku.

Ilona Ongpin

Where to go for an all-girls night out?

Nuvo is a fave since it is conducive to chatting up, at the same time for watching all the cute guys too. Segafredo is another choice since it’s not a dating place, making it comfortable for us girls.

Ayessa Montaner

Where can you hang out on a Thursday night?

No doubt I will be at Peligro since the place is laid back and comfortable. The clincher is you can do whatever you please and the crowd won’t mind, especially after drinking their signature drink De Puta Madre.

Michelle Espina

Where to go for comfort and casual dining?

My favorite comfort food is chicken and the first restaurant that comes to mind is Max’s fried spring chicken. Or I drive to Tomas Morato to dine at Little Asia for their crispy oriental chicken.

DAN GOLDENBERG

Where do you bring your guest from overseas for bar hopping?

I will show them around Greenbelt and will hop to Temple for the good music, Absinth for Wednesday’s hip hop night, Halo for high-energy dancing, and Nuvo since it is a nice place to meet people. The Malate street scene is also an interesting experience.
