Party pilgrims

24/7 LOGBOOK - Janine Cuenca-Dario, JR Isaac -
24/7 has just started the annual Christmas season pilgrimage to party land. This month of merrymaking fired off with the launch of South Africa’s Amarula Cream at Dreambar@6750. This is guaranteed to be another must-have in everyone’s drink list starting this season.

Dreambar@6750 was beautifully transformed into a place of tribal worship. An elephant bust installed at the venue provided the dramatic backdrop. Drapes flowed from ceiling to floor at the altar where DJ Manolet Dario stood as the evening’s high priest. Pinikpikan’s live percussion performance gave the untamed spirits of the night an opportunity to shed their inhibitions. Attractive and towering Amarula priestesses handed out drinks as potions for a magical evening. The sweet creamy taste of Amarula flowed all night, which the audience just couldn’t get enough of.

A pilgrimage to Temple Bar was next on the itinerary for all tequila lovers. Temple was the scene for Cuervo’s Divine Club nights of December. Nocturnal spirits were led inside through a golden tunnel. As you entered the room, two towers formed by Cuervo bottles completed the atmosphere for the all night beats of DJ Martin Pulgar’s club anthems. The Buddha worship ceremony began with a parade of club characters modeling the latest collection of Havoc designed by Adam de Lumen. Hardcore clubbers of Manila were in full force as they cheered for more of the liquid gold tequila. It was an interesting display of the city’s club-goers wearing their spiritual outfits for that ultimate and divinely uplifting evening!

The other weekend, all roads for the local advertising industry led to that favorite mountain retreat of Baguio for the 18th Philippine Advertising Congress. Many celebrated their achievements in wild abandon at the party series organized by NBK and Globe Telecom’s Gentxt at Nevada Square. In spite of the dozens of other parties pitted against each other, this series was considered one of the weekend’s best for its vibe, atmosphere and attendance.

After the first night that featured popular acoustic artists, the dance parties began. The DecaDance retro nights were transported to Baguio with ‘80s and ‘90s guru Boyet Almazan who whipped the crowd into a frenzy during the second evening, showing them why Fridays at Dreambar is Manila’s hottest theme party. The three-day shebang culminated with a fantastic visual and aural experience as NBK’s much talked- about ManoMissionparty debuted in the City of Pines with Manolet Dario along with NBK residents Raji Mata and Benjo Marquez pounding the decks in front of almost 3,000 people at the huge outdoor venue. Percussionists, dancers, lasers, visuals, intelligent lights and two giant outdoor beams made this three-day Gentxt festival truly memorable.
