Placed along Rockwells strip of bistros and restos, this new dive is fast spreading roots among Manilas grapevine as one of the best places to chill out and stand out. True to its name, the place is lined with teak, a hard wood known for its durability and strength. Inside, the mood is intimate and casual, as people sit back on plush beige velvet seats. The bright strong red walls deliver an air of warmth and coziness perfect for a peaceful dinner and a nightcap after a movie. While outside, guests who prefer the outdoor breeze may relax at one of the al fresco tables.
The menu is uncluttered and refined with limited but excellent number of well put-together choices. One may choose from a wide variety of wines presented elegantly in a glass chamber serving as the restaurants backdrop. Its not a wonder Teak is rapidly acquiring a loyal following of guests including some of Manilas celebrities and personalities. For like the wood that its named after, Teak will never go out of style. On the 15th of November, Saturday, celebrate with Teak at 10 p.m. for its grand launch party.
Another new bar that is making Manilas pulsating night life even more interesting is Bora Bar at the Fort Bonifacio Global City, named after our world-famous island. Its located at the third floor of DLA building between Price Smart Membership Club and MC Home Depot. It actually offers a strategic view of Fort Bonifacios concert area. Its situated outside of Makati, which means that parking is easy and the view is unobstructed. Owners tell me that the view from the bars balcony is breathtaking so you can expect more of the sunset parties similar to that of the Island. To complete the experience, they serve pizzas and pasta made by a chef from a popular resto in Boracay, which goes well with fruit shakes and margaritas.
New bars and a constant addition of events keep us from staying home. Here are the events to look forward to for the week:
