Stand-out studes bag Ms. and Mr. CEU titles

Karen Anne S. Cad, a 19-year-old Accounting sophomore from CEU’s School of Accountacy, Business, Secretarial and Public Administration, and Hermann Gerhard Weber, an 18-year-old Nursing freshman, were proclaimed Ms. and Mr. CEU 2003 recently in glittering coronation rites at the CEU North Quadrangle. The two bested 18 other candidates who vied for the title.

Ms. and Mr. CEU is an annual search for campus models of excellence, emphasizing good values among its contestants. The search aims to develop and strengthen qualities and traits that a model CEU student should exemplify, promote well-roundedness among CEU students, prepare intelligent, talented and gifted students to excel in global competitiveness, and provide effective means of determining models for excellence within the university.

This year’s board of judges was headed by Rep. Gilbert Cesar Remulla, 2nd District of Cavite. Other judges included Standard Insurance president and CEU vice chairman of the board Ernestro T. Echauz; CEU executive vice president Dr. Maria L. Ayuyao; top fashion designers, Frederick Peralta, Edwin Tan, Eddie Baddeo; fashion director Ariel Lozada; and fashion photographer Dominique James. Also part of the board of judges were Binibining Pilipinas title holders, Bb. Pilipinas-World 2002, Katherine Anne Manalo, Bb. Pilipinas-International 2002 Katherine Alazar, Bb. Pilipinas-Universe 2002 Karen Loren Agustin, Bb. Pilipinas-International 2001, Maricarl Tolosa and Model of the World, Gemith Gemparo.
