The Makiling Ensemble Launches New Album

Join The Makiling Ensemble as they launch their independently produced 2^nd album on October 25, Friday, 6:00pm at the Shangri-La Plaza Grand Atrium.

The album aptly named PATINTERO SA ILALIM NG BUWAN is a follow-up to their critically acclaimed first album, MEDYO MODERN. The new songs span a greater diversity of styles, featuring elements of Maguindanao music, T’boli music, blues-rock, reggae, salsa, ska, Western country music, Indian music, and Spanish flamenco fused into Makiling Ensemble's genre of world music. The carrier single will be the upbeat song, "PATINTERO," whose music video counterpart will also be launched in the same event. Indie filmmaker Khavn de la Cruz directs the video.

The schedule of events happening only on the mentioned date is as follows: whole-day selling of Makiling Ensemble CDs; launching of "Patintero" music video at 5:30 pm; and Makiling Ensemble performance of cuts from their new album at 6:00 pm, LIVE! All of these will take place within the Grand Atrium area. Singer Noel Cabangon, a guest artist in the album, will join them in one song.
