MTV-Penshoppe Council: Sibling chivalry

- From the Philippine Star’s YS -
Summer was a busy time for the members of the MTV-Penshoppe Youth Council. After taking shovel and spade to help build houses for Habitat for Humanity, they played big brothers and sisters to the kids of the Chosen Children Village at Silang, Cavite, a community especially designed for the care of physically and mentally challenged children.

The Youth Council visited the various cottages in the village, bonding and interacting with the children. They enjoyed themselves so much because being with these special kids, touched the child in them. "It was a wonderful and inspiring experience. We were happy that we were able to share our time with them," they said.

The Youth Council members also gave away clothes, toys, toiletries and food. Their adviser Anne Feo-Maningo brought medicine and vitamins courtesy of Dr. Marilyn Grace Mangilet, Dr. Jose Gabriel de Borja, Dr. Ronald Tuazon and nurse Mona Bella Yakapin.

The MTV-Penshoppe Youth Council is composed of Kathleen Hilario, Leila Lee Kuzman, Danielle Mendoza, Kelly Misa, Nicole Schulze, Terrence Koa, Richard Lozano, Marco Lobregat, Uriah Vanden Bos and Brad Turvey. The group was formed to represent the ideals that MTV Philippines and Penshoppe believe today’s youth should possess — fun and free-spirited yet responsible, concerned and dedicated to the well-being of the community.

The MTV-Penshoppe Youth Council is also supported by Cali and I-Academy.
