Cathay offers free trips to South Africa

Calling all Filipino students between 15 and 18 to take part in the Cathay Pacific International Wilderness Experience Program 2002. The program will be held on July 21 to 31, 2002 with over sixty students from Hong Kong, Mainland China, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, Vietnam, Japan, Singapore and South Africa. All expenses—from the cost of air tickets, course fees, accommodation, meals, and ground transport in South Africa—will be sponsored by Cathay Pacific.

This year’s International Wilderness experience program will take place in South Africa, which boasts of several nature reserves containing a wide variety of wild- and plant-life, including more than eighty species of mammals and 230 species of birds. Instead of attending lectures, the students will be guided by a team of highly qualified educational officers and experience nature through hikes, camping trips and wildlife observation. They will also share each other’s cultural heritage through wedding role-playing, group discussion, as well as traditional songs and dances.
