Georgina Wilson clarifies Paris Hilton 'hate tweet' issue
Celebrity model Georgina Wilson clarified her alleged "hate tweet” against Paris Hilton after she reacted negatively to the rumored meeting between the American socialite and President Noynoy Aquino.
Wilson drew flak after she tweeted that Paris Hilton is not worthy of seeing the President. Hilton is currently in the country for a commercial endorsement. Through her personal Twitter account, Wilson stated:
“I dnt mean to offend anyone or be negative I jst think that Paris Hilton isnt important enough for a president to meet up with. night guys :)” (I do not mean to offend anyone or be negative; I just think that Paris Hilton is not important enough for a president to meet up with. ‘Night, guys.)
In a press conference held yesterday afternoon at the posh Salon de Ning of The Peninsula Manila, where Hilton likewise held a press conference at a latter time, Wilson clarified that she has nothing against the hotel heiress. Wilson, along with footballer Phil Younghusband, was launched as the new brand ambassadors of Haagen Dazs, attributed to be the “world’s first super-premium ice cream.”
“I just really felt strongly about the issue so I felt that I had to say something,” Wilson said.
"It has nothing to do with me not liking Paris or not. I mean, I'm happy that she loves the Philippines and I think she's very supportive with Manny Pacquiao and all of that.
"But I also don't think that it's necessary for the president to meet her because she's here on a commercial endeavor,” the model further clarified.
Meanwhile, Wilson exclaimed that she is elated to be the new Philippine brand ambassador for global premium ice cream brand Haagen Dazs.
