Vic Sotto, Bea Alonzo star in 'Pak! Pak! My Dr. Kwak'
Given the long list of blockbuster movies both by Star Cinema and M-Zet Productions, their latest co-production “Pak! Pak! My Dr. Kwak” will surely be a hit!
After almost 14 years, Vic Sotto will be working with Star Cinema alongside one of today’s most in-demand leading ladies, Bea Alonzo.
The movie is premised on the clash of medicine and faith healing. Bea plays a young obsessive-compulsive physician while Bossing plays a faith healer, or rather, a “fake” healer. He met the character of child wonder Zaijian Jaranilla, an exiled angel sent to earth to convince Bossing Vic to become a better man.
This is the first time Bea will do a comedy film; she is best known for her critically-acclaimed and certified box-office hit movie roles under the romance and drama genre.
“Kakaiba ‘yung role ko, isang doktor na may pagka-OC, and it’s my first time to do comedy. Siyempre kami ni Bossing, may love angle kami,” said Bea.
Meanwhile, Bossing Vic is best known for his comedy and fantasy movie roles, which are likewise certified box-office hits:
“Ako’y isang faith healer na gumagamit ng alternative medicine. By stroke of faith nakilala ko si Zaijian who’s from heaven, na siya yung talagang may powers to heal people. On the side, si Bea naman is a doctor of medicine. So it’s a clash between science and faith healing. So kung papaano kami magka-clash at magkakagustuhan, yun ang malaking problema,” he said.
Also in the cast are Xyriel Manabat, who plays the niece of Bea's character. Kapamilya comedienne Pokwang will star alongside Kapuso comedians Jose Manalo and Wally Bayola as the sidekicks of Bossing Vic's character.
Completing the cast of “Pak! Pak! My Dr. Kwak” are Paolo Ballesteros, Joonie Gamboa, Jon Avila, Victor Basa, Johnny Revilla, Dexter Doria, and Paw Diaz, with the special participation of Peque Gallaga, Anjo Yllana, Bella Flores and Joey de Leon.
Directed by Tony Reyes, “Pak! Pak! My Dr. Kwak” will open on April 23 in over 100 theaters nationwide.
