SEATTLE, USA  — Following the successful launch of its new Manila to Seattle direct flight this month, the country’s flag carrier airlines Philippine Airlines (PAL) revealed some of its plans.

When asked if PAL will launch a direct flight to Paris, Captain Stanley Ng, PAL President and Chief Operating Officer, told Philstar.com and other media outlets in a group interview in Westin, Seattle: “’Yun ‘yung under study pa for the moment.”

“Of course, we’re waiting for our new orders of new planes coming in. Might be closer to December of 2025. So 2026 and beyond, we’re looking into that also, of making Manila as a hub to connect,” he said.

Besides acquiring new vessels, PAL is also waiting for improvements in the Manila airport and the still under-construction Bulacan International Airport or New Manila International Airport before deciding to add new routes, Ng said.

According to him, the company has at least 21 new airplanes coming in, and some of them are for long-haul flights like Manila to Paris. The arrival of the new aircrafts, he said, would be “very timely with the improvement of the infrastructures” in Manila.
