'Bibe' in Taiwan: Giant yellow rubber ducks land in Kaohsiung
KAOHSIUNG, Taiwan — It's not just Filipinos who are embracing those ubiquitous yellow ducks. In Taiwan's southern port city of Kaohsiung, locals and visitors alike enjoyed taking photos of the two iconic giant yellow rubber ducks floating on the city's Love River Bay.
Philstar.com was among those who visited the city as part of the press who covered the opening of the ongoing Taiwan Lantern Festival, spearheaded by the Taiwan Administration, Ministry of Transportation and Communications.
The two giant rubber ducks were a hit among visitors as they took selfies and groufies with them on the background.
Yellow duck head pins or accessories are also sold at the bazaar during the 2024 Wonderland Festival.
Created by Dutch artist Florentijn Hofman, the giant rubber ducks were set afloat on the bay during the opening of the festival last January 27. It ended last February 25.
The 18-meter-tall giant rubber duck was last seen in Kaohsiung in 2013.
