Philanthropic effort launched to aid victims of Aklan fires
MANILA, Philippines – A philanthropic initiative was recently launched to extend support to those adversely affected by the recent fires in Malay, Aklan.
The initiative aligns closely with the Municipal Social Workers Development Office, aiming to help victims of the fires in Sitio Pinaungon last December 2023 and Vargas Compounds in January 2024.
The fires impacted a total of 76 households.
The initiative was spearheaded by Fridays Boracay led by chief operating officer Samantha Panlilio in collaboration with the Local Municipality Office led by Malay mayor Frolibar Bautista and vice mayor Carlos Cawaling.
“Fridays Boracay has committed to contributing to the immediate relief efforts by pledging various resort items held in stock, including assorted ready-to-wear linens and towels, 10 televisions, and 40 mini refrigerators. These items are intended to be utilized by those affected by the fires and to aid in the recovery process,” the company said in a statement.
Known for being the most iconic resort on Station 1, Fridays Boracay is popular for upholding authentic Filipino design and hospitality. It is currently closed to the public for a transformative journey, and is set to reopen sometime in 2026 as the all new Fridays Boracay, A Radisson Collection Resort.
