MANILA, Philippines — Discovery Shores Boracay brought a Disney-like experience to the world-class island to celebrate the holiday season.

In an interview with Philstar.com, hotel manager Erwin Lopez said that their staff dressed up as Disney characters as they strutted around the hotel and the streets of surrounding communities in a festive parade during the lighting ceremony.

"Nagpa-contest kami sa mga staff so may team na nag-costume ng 'Frozen,' 'Snow White,' 'Beauty and the Beast' tapos sinama namin sa program," he said.

"So imagine before the Christmas lighting, all of these characters went out to do short dance. I tell you 'yung mga bata were very happy," he added.

The activity was graced by singer and Broadway star Rachelle Ann Go-Spies, who shared her own memories of the island resort. In a short speech at the event, she looked back on her first experience with Discovery Shores Boracay 15 years ago and expressed her gratitude for being a part of the Discovery family.

The Christmas festivities were extended to Balay Discovery Staff House with its dazzling light installation for all the locals to enjoy.

Decorated to look like a Christmas village, the staff house lit Boracay with its marvelous light show, which was officially opened for public viewing after the resort’s Tree Lighting ceremony. Boracay residents and visitors can catch the light show from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. until January 6, 2024.

“We wanted the spirit of this year’s holiday celebrations to reflect the relationship between Discovery Shores Boracay and the island’s residents, which through the years has been nothing short of fruitful and memorable,” shared Lopez.

“We hope that the light installation and our own Christmas village gives them the same joy as it gave us in putting it all together,” he added.

Entitled “Hearts Aglow,” the hotel's Christmas celebration focuses on building and strengthening relationships, a fitting theme for the resort’s goal of spreading holiday cheer to all its guests and to the community that has embraced the resort for 16 years.
