BTS sends off member J-Hope as he enlists in military
MANILA, Philippines — K-pop group BTS has seen off a second member, J-Hope, as he enlists in South Korea's mandatory military service, a process he began last February.
A day before his official enlistment into a training center said to be in the Gangwon Province, J-Hope posted a short message for his fans and followers.
"I'll be back in good health!!" he had written on paper which he posted on Instagram followed by a photo himself sporting a military-approved buzzcut.
The caption for the post read, "I'll have a good trip!!"
The entire group, including a military-suited Jin, the BTS' eldest member who enlisted back in December 2022, met up to see J-Hope off, as seen in photos posted by BTS' official social media accounts.
Jin, V, and RM reposted the group photos on their own Instagram accounts, with the latter saying, "See you soon... brother" in his Story.
The latter two as well as Jimin, Suga, and Jungkook are expected to follow Jin and J-Hope in enlisting before reuniting as a group again in 2025.
Ahead of enlisting, J-Hope released debut solo album "Jack in the Box," documented the album's creation in "j-hope IN THE BOX," headlined Lollapalooza, and was tapped by Louis Vuitton to be a global ambassador.
