OFWs, tourists get free SIM cards again
MANILA, Philippines – Globe Telecom and the Department of Tourism’s Tourism Promotions Board are giving free SIM cards again to overseas Filipino workers and tourists visiting the country.
The Globe Traveler SIM, which was first offered in July 2015, is a local prepaid SIM that offers cheaper rates for call, SMS, and mobile data services. Receiving calls and texts from abroad is free, while overseas calls cost US$0.40 per minute.

Users can also take advantage of Globe’s mobile data promo, TravelSurf, which costs US$11 for seven days or US$23 for 30 days.
The Globe Traveler SIM, offered for free until June 8, 2016 only, is available at the Globe booths in NAIA, Cebu, Davao, Kalibo, Iloilo, and Clark International Airports. Tourists can also make reservations at www.globe.com.ph/traveler-sim/reserve-now.
Globe and DOT launched the promo again in time for the Visit the Philippines Again 2016 campaign of DOT and Globe’s Relive Wonderful Philippines contest where OFWs and tourists can join by submitting a video showcasing why they love the Philippines and what they want to do in the country again. A free trip for two to the destination of choice in the Philippines, including hotel accommodation and pocket money, will be awarded to the winner.
