MANILA, Philippines – In celebration of the 40th anniversary of the Philippine Horticultural Society, Inc. a flower and garden show extravaganza will be held Feb. 4 to 15 at the Hardin ng Mga Bulaklak and Tropical Gardens of Quezon Memorial Circle, Quezon City.
According to club president Dorie Bernabe, the main idea of the show is to let the public know that there is money in gardening, not just a hobby but an industry and way of life, providing food, medicine, health and beauty and relaxation. Apart from landscape exhibits and plant competitions, there will be a floral float parade, flower arrangement show, on-the- spot painting contest, bonsai and fauna show, raffles and daily lecture-demonstrations on the various aspects of gardening.
Hundreds of commercial exhibitors from all over the country have signed up to offer their products.
With the success of the floral float parade last year, this time ten big companies will be participating. The parade of floats will start at 7:30 a.m. and parade around designated streets in Quezon City, after which they will be displayed at the Quezon Memorial Circle for two days.
Plant enthusiasts, teachers, students and all those who love and enjoy plants and flowers are invited to come see and or participate in any of the events.
