Make your Myanmar, India dreams come true with Cebu Pacific and Tigerair Singapore

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Cebu Pacific Air (CEB) joins Singapore’s Tigerair to form a wider network. Through an interline agreement, destinations such as Bangalore (India), Yangon (Myanmar) and Dhaka (Bangladesh), among other Tigerair Singapore destinations, can be booked through the CEB website and other CEB booking channels.

Cebu Pacific and Tigerair have created the biggest network of flights from the Philippines to the region. Travelers can enjoy seamless connections between the two airlines, with easy one-stop ticketing for connecting flights and baggage check-in. The ability to cross-book flights on a single itinerary also boosts connectivity between the two carriers, allowing customers to connect seamlessly within the Asia-Pacific and the Middle East.

INCREDIBLE YANGON, MYANMAR

Brimming with old-world charm, Yangon is the largest city and main economic hub of Myanmar. With a mesmerizing mix of British, Burmese, Chinese and Indian influences, it is known for its heritage structures that include an array of religious structures and colonial-era buildings. Among the most popular sights is the great Shwedagon Pagoda, a gilded pagoda and stupa that is about 2,500 years old. The most sacred and impressive Buddhist site for the people of Burma, it enshrines strands of Gautama Buddha’s hair and other holy relics. It is also covered with hundreds of gold plates, while the top of the stupa is encrusted with 4,531 diamonds, the largest of which is a 72-carat diamond.

Nature lovers can explore the city’s stunning lakes, shady parks and verdant tropical trees, which earned Yangon the title “The Garden City of the East.” Those who want to bring home a piece of Myanmar should head to the Gems Museum, which is dedicated to precious Burmese gem stones.  They can visit the Gems Mart, which houses 82 jewelry stores on three floors and sells top-quality raw and finished gem products, including rubies, sapphires, pearls and jade.

UNBELIEVABLE BANGALORE, INDIA

The third largest city in India, Bangalore offers a wide array of attractions. This includes the Bangalore Palace, which was built in 1887 by King Chamaraja Wodeyar. Inspired by England’s Windsor Castle, this palace boasts Tudor-style architecture with fortified towers, green lawns, and elegant woodcarvings in its interiors. Take a romantic walk at the Lalbagh Botanical Garden, 240 acres of enchanting garden with rare collections of tropical and sub-tropical trees and plants. The crowning jewel of this garden is the glass house made in the 17th century and modeled after London’s Crystal Palace.

Through its partnership with Tigerair, passengers can now book flights to Bangalore and Yangon through the CEB website and other booking channels. The estimated time of departure for the Manila-Singapore-Bangalore flight is 1:30 p.m., arriving in Bangalore at 12:40 a.m. For the Manila-Singapore-Yangon route, flights leave Manila at 9:25 p.m., arriving in Yangon at 8:45 a.m. For a seamless transfer, guests taking CEB flights from Manila, Cebu, Clark or Iloilo to Singapore can avail of CEBConnect upon landing at the Singapore Changi International Airport Terminal 2. CEBConnect is a convenient transfer service within the Singapore Changi Airport’s transit area. With CEBConnect, guests no longer have to clear arrival immigration, collect checked-in luggage and check-in again for onward flight connections via Singapore.
