Take a royal trip on Princess Cruises as it celebrates its 50th anniversary
MANILA, Philippines - It all began 50 years ago with a voyage to Mexico and a single ship — Princess Patricia. Today, Princess Cruises takes guests to destinations onboard 18 ships while introducing them to new experiences as it celebrates it 50th year in 2015.
One night on every cruise, the main dining rooms present a special 50th anniversary menu, featuring dishes from the past five decades. Plus, wherever you sail, taste authentic regional cuisine — from fresh salmon in Alaska to Indonesian grilled lamb chops in Hawaii. Known for “the best pizza at sea,” the chefs will introduce a variety of new anniversary pizzas.
For dessert, there are chocolate-and-wine tastings and chocolate spa treatments -— all created for Princess Chocolate Journeys by Norman Love. There are two special desserts designed by Love the Chocolate Raspberry Mousse with Vanilla Crème Brulee and Crunchy Shortbread or Moist Chocolate Dome with Rasberry Creme brulee and bittersweet chocolate mousse
Get a taste of the new Seawitch West Coast IPA beer crafted for the anniversary, or sample the cocktails from mixologist Spike Marchant along with popular drinks through the decades — from a classic martini to a piña colada.
Celebrate in the Love Boat party on the top deck, Golden Balloon drop and a 50th anniversary show in the Italian-inspired Piazza. Compete in game shows and test your knowledge with the Princess Trivia Challenge.
Before you dock, check out the duty free shops, which offer limited-edition merchandise. Plus, the photo department will have commemorative backdrops and folios to capture the memories of your cruise vacation.
