Cathay Business Lounge at HK just got better

MANILA, Philippines - If you are flying out to London, one of the best ways is to book a seat in Cathay Pacific’s Premium Economy Class. It’s a separate section of 26 to 34 economy seats with more leg and elbow room, better seat pitch (at 38 inches, six more than regular Economy), and an enhanced entertainment system. Even better, if you book a Business or First Class seat, you can truly savor the enhanced Level 7 Business Lounge at Hong Kong’s International Airport, The Wing. Cathay Pacific was our carrier for this UK trip, and they were nice enough to let me sample Hong Kong’s exquisitely redesigned Business Lounge.

After extensive renovation (by London-based design firm Foster+Partners), the two-level lounge is so great, you may completely forget about your destination! The earlier lounge was no slouch, but now The Wing offers an open-space Noodle Bar with natural lighting and bamboo décor. Across the hall is The Coffee Loft, with a designated barista ready to fix you whatever you crave — whether it’s espresso, latte, cappuccino, or cocktails. The Loft space has cozy nooks for socializing, Mac computers for surfing, and a sit-down bar for enjoying your layover. Outside, you can help yourself to the usual snacks and drinks, and curl up in one of their cushioned Solus Chairs (personal pods complete with power outlet to charge your devices). Downstairs, there’s a business center and showers for those who need to refresh.

The Wing’s Business Class Lounge is open to Business and First Class, Silver and above Marco Polo Club Members and Sapphire and above oneworld members.

Layovers just got a whole lot more fun.
