CEB marks 5th year of Clark operations at NorthPhil Expo
MANILA, Philippines - Cebu Pacific Air (CEB) is celebrating its fifth year of operations at the NorthPhil Expo, an international expo at SM City Clark from Nov. 15 to 17.
The official airline partner of the NorthPhil Expo since the event’s inception, CEB launched Clark as one of its operational hubs in 2008, with direct international flights to Singapore, Hong Kong and Macau. It also flies direct from Clark to Cebu.
“Cebu Pacific’s continuous support of the NorthPhil Expo highlights our commitment to promoting North Luzon as a primary tourist and trade hub. We encourage guests to find out more about Cebu Pacific’s trademark lowest fares and extensive network at the expo,†said CEB VP for marketing and distribution Candice Iyog.
Aside from its direct flights from Diosdado Macapagal International Airport in Clark, CEB also offers the most number of destinations from the Philippines to the member-countries of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).
According to Central Luzon director Ronnie Tiotuico of the Department of Tourism (DOT), Cebu Pacific is significantly helping Clark and Manila connect to the ASEAN, whose integration is targeted by the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) to raise two-way trade volume to $150 billion by 2015.
“Cebu Pacific’s Clark hub has been operating for the past five years, during which it has also been participating in the NorthPhil Tourism and Travel Expo to promote two-way travel between all regions north of Manila and the most popular destinations in Southeast Asia,†Tiotuico added.
CEB operates flights from Manila to Brunei, Cambodia (Siem Reap), Indonesia (Bali and Jakarta), Malaysia (Kota Kinabalu and Kuala Lumpur), Singapore, Thailand (Bangkok and Phuket), and Vietnam (Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh).
The three-day expo will also have travel agents from Vietnam, Thailand and Malaysia participating to enable them to promote and sell NorthPhil’s destinations to their respective captive clients back home.
Through NorthPhil Expo’s various booths and exhibits, NorthPhil’s rich and diverse cultural and natural attractions will become even more accessible, particularly for tourists from other continents booking for an ASEAN tour.
“Travel and tour packages and services featuring those varied scenic destinations are what the foreign buyers and the local sellers will do business with,†Tiotuico said.
The foreign buyers, along with hordes of other visitors, will view the NorthPhil Expo’s wide array of exhibits, which include new and emerging tourism and travel destinations, products and services, provincial pavilions, and corporate booths offering affordable and exciting package tours.
The exhibits include agri- and eco-tourism, time share and leisure properties, airlines and air alliances, hotels and resorts, national and local government agencies, restaurants, retirement villages, spa resorts and destinations, theme parks and amusement centers, foreign tourism boards, tourism transport operators, travel and tourism associations, publications, travel insurance, and wellness centers, among many others.
Organized by the DOT’s northern regional offices, the Association of Tourism Officers of Central Luzon, and the Philippine Exhibits and Themeparks Corp. (PETCO), the expo is supported by Cebu Pacific Air as airline partner and by Manila North Tollways Corp., Philippine Retirement Authority, Tiger Air Philippines, and Tourism Infrastructure and Enterprise Zone Authority as corporate partners.
