Oktoberfest fever at Sofitel

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - The Oktoberfest fever hit Manila once again as Bavaria came to Manila with the recently concluded 75th Oktoberfest Manila held at Sofitel Philippine Plaza. The two-day celebration was organized by the German Club, gathering almost 4,000 people for this year’s most authentic beer festival in the Philippines at the newly renovated Harbor Garden tent. Launching the Oktoberfest was the traditional tapping of keg ceremony.  Photo shows (from left) Pasay City Mayor Antonio Gallardo Calixto; Maria Cleofe Natividad, Philippine ambassador to Germany; Michael Hasper, charge d’affaires, embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany; event host Eiffelene Salvador; Michael Scheile, Oktoberfest chairman, German Club Manila; and Sofitel Philippine Plaza general manager Adam Laker.
