Shangri-La’s Mactan completes room renovation in time for 20th year

MANILA, Philippines - Shangri-La’s Mactan Resort & Spa, Cebu raises the bar for leisure and luxury as it wrapped up enhancements to 354 guestrooms in the resort’s main wing, completing its three-phase room refurbishment program. 

The renovation program’s completion is rightly timed as the resort prepares for its 20th anniversary in October.

Clothed in golden sand and fresh turquoise, the redesigned “ocean to shore” concept of the resort’s 36-square-meter deluxe and deluxe sea view rooms shows off dynamic color plays fused with coral and seashell in-room décor. 

Scenic balconies open up to panoramic views of richly landscaped gardens and ocean blues for the ultimate repose after a full day of recreation.

Along with tasteful accents of fine Filipino craftsmanship in capiz headboards, timber flooring, decorative fretwork lamps and the classy use of teak and mother-of-pearl, such thoughtful touches as adjustable mood lighting and a fully integrated extra pull-down Murphy bed have also been added to the resort’s upgrade.

In addition to these improvements, the resort’s main wing now includes eight stylish deluxe family rooms perfect for families and small groups.  Each of the 45- to 61‑square‑meter rooms offers two queen-size beds, a bathtub, a separate shower, and a private balcony with handsome views of the resort’s expansive tropical gardens and swimming pool.

The deluxe family rooms complement the Mactan and Veranda Suites introduced earlier in the refurbishment program. The sprawling one-bedroom Mactan Suites offer the luxury of space, while the Veranda Suites offer a private 30-square-meter corner terrace that provides guests with an expansive view of the property or the privacy to luxuriate under the Mactan sun.

The resort recognizes the need of tech-savvy tourists and travelers to connect in real time, thus all guestrooms are equipped with complimentary in-room wired Internet and Wi-Fi access.
