TripAdvisor recognizes Alegre anew

MANILA, Philippines - Alegre Beach Resort and Spa in Sogod, Cebu has announced that it has received a TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence award.

This is the second time the resort made it to the prestigious list since it received the same recognition in 2012 for maintaining an overall rating of 4.5 out of a possible 5 as reviewed by travelers who have been actual guests of the resort on TripAdvisor.com.

The accolade, which honors hospitality excellence, is given only to establishments that consistently achieve outstanding traveler reviews on TripAdvisor, and is extended to qualifying businesses worldwide.

Only the top-performing 10 percent of businesses listed on TripAdvisor receive this prestigious award.

“Once again, we are very pleased to have been recognized and to receive a TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence,” said general manager Dottie Wurgler-Cronin.

“We in Alegre are guided by our vision to passionately deliver ‘Alegre Moments’ so that our guests always bring home a memorable experience,” added Cronin.

At present, Alegre is almost done with its major makeover to improve its facilities and amenities. The renovation of the Pavilion restaurant and the Spa was completed recently, getting good comments from guests with the refreshed menus and surroundings.

This year, which marks Alegre’s 20th year, is another exciting chapter for the resort as it is adding 44 rooms, plus state-of-the-art facilities and iconic structures.

“Yes, we are expanding, and there’s no stopping Alegre from being the prime tourist destination in the north of Cebu in the years to come,” said Cronin.
