Sofitel supports Virlanie Foundation

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Sofitel Philippine Plaza has handed over P755,000 to the Virlanie Foundation, a non-government organization that supports street children, to assist the ongoing operations of its nine community shelters in Makati City. The money was raised through the recent Sofitel-Run Rio ‘Battle of the Sexes,’ a first of its kind for the hotel. Sofitel general manager Adam Laker said, ‘We were delighted with the success of our first-ever run in collaboration with Coach Rio de la Cruz which attracted more than 3,000 runners.  Also we would like to acknowledge the support of our partners, particularly our major sponsor, Chevrolet Philippines. As such we are pleased to announce that a second run will be held on Sept. 1.’ Photo shows (from left) Chevrolet Philippines managing director Atty. Albert Arcilla, Virlanie Foundation president and founder Dominique Lemay, Laker, and De la Cruz.
