Successful meetings at Crowne Plaza Manila Galleria
MANILA, Philippines - Sometimes, it’s all about the meetings. Nothing is better than a successful get-together to celebrate a milestone or an opportunity to showcase new developments in the industry. If it’s as small as a simple business meet or an intimate birthday celebration, to as big as a wedding reception or company event, you will need a space that can be flexible to your needs. Having the space you need is Crowne Plaza Manila Galleria.
Located at the Ortigas Business District, Crowne Plaza Manila Galleria is a world-class hotel famed for its large meeting areas and ballrooms. An entire 2,915-square-meter floor area is dedicated just for meetings and convention events. A total of five function rooms can be divided into several smaller meeting rooms. The biggest, the Grand Ballroom, is a 1,272-square-meter space that can be divided further into five smaller function rooms. With a ceiling seven meters high, it is also the largest pillar-less grand ballroom in the Ortigas Business District that can accommodate up to 1,500 people.
A secondary ballroom called Ruby has 678 square meters and can cater up to 500 people and can be further divided into three function rooms. There are two smaller meeting rooms: Sapphire and Emerald, and the newly opened Jade which, at 180 square meters, has floor-to-ceiling windows and a view of Ortigas Avenue.
And as if that much space is not enough, before you can even go to the meeting rooms and ballrooms, there is a large foyer area where you can arrange to have cocktails, photo booths, exhibits, etc. It’s basically a space where participants or delegates can entertain themselves before entering the main event rooms.
“All meeting rooms are located on one floor. Conventioneers don’t have to go to different floors, which makes it easily accessible to attendees,†says Trixie de Chavez, sales and marketing director of Crowne Plaza Manila Galleria.
De Chavez adds that Crowne Plaza is steps ahead in understanding their guests’ needs. One of the ways they improve upon their brand is knowing how to drive successful meetings — the hotel’s bread and butter — and what makes them different from their competition. “We are a brand highly focused on meetings since it’s a key segment,†she says. “I think the difference we have is that we have a dedicated person to handle your event from beginning to end. The Crowne meetings director’s task is to hold really seamless meetings for you. He or she will be your point of contact from start to finish.â€
The Crowne meetings director is the main contact when you want to hold a successful event. Leading a team of people who will make sure everything goes smoothly, the director can submit a full proposal for your event or meeting within the next business day. The team assists clients in customizing their event, which may include concessions for qualified meetings. Different packages are also offered for different budgets that include extensive menu options from international to even vegetarian cuisine.
As far as accommodations go, Crowne Plaza offers modern amenities to satisfy distinguished guests. Five different room types are available and a couple comes with certain perks. De Chavez says, “When you book any suite or Club deluxe room, you get automatic access to the Club Lounge. It’s an exclusive lounge where guests can enjoy special privileges, including express check–in and checkout, complimentary Internet and use of the boardroom, breakfast, cocktails and all-day refreshments.â€
Internet connectivity is essential to the Crowne Plaza market. Currently, the hotel is upgrading its bandwidth. Key accounts have the luxury of being provided with their own dedicated private network. De Chavez says, “Hotels usually charge for their Internet but starting July, all of our IHG Elite reward members will have free Internet access.â€
Two major dining venues will satisfy Crowne Plaza guests. At 7 Corners, dining becomes interactive when chefs at different stations showcase their cooking skills right in front of guests. Popular for its Prime Rib and Indian specialties, 7 Corners chefs can make ala-minute items for each station, from salads to pizzas, and so on. At specialty Chinese restaurant Xin Tian Di, there’s an everyday dimsum buffet lunch — have as much dimsum as you want for P1,188 per person with over 64 dimsum choices. There’s also soup, congee, noodles and rice. Set menus for four, six and 10 people are available. Ala carte dishes are available throughout the day and night.
Despite the overwhelming number of people they most certainly cater to during events, De Chavez says Crowne Plaza never forgets that it is the individual that truly matters. “What I think we have done over the years is really focus on relationships,†she says. “If you are a repeat client we already know what you need and we give that to you.†And that is what makes Crowne Plaza the ultimate place to meet.
