‘Time for Taiwan’ invades Glorietta
MANILA, Philippines - The “Time for Taiwan†travel fair invaded the new Activity Center in Glorietta at Ayala Center last May 4 and 5 with great travel deals, fun entertainment and lots of free goodies. Throngs of family members, friends and just eager travels raring to get a good deal to visit a new destination came to the two-day affair organized by ThemeWorks Events. With the proximity of Taiwan to the Philippines, less than two hours away from the Manila or Clark International Airports, the Taiwan tourism team came in full force to introduce a new and exciting destination to the Filipinos. It is perfect for Filipinos who enjoy the pleasure of traveling. One can enjoy four seasons in a year, eat great food either at indoor restaurants or exciting street food markets, and explore the Night Market for the best bargains.
If you’re a Philippine passport holder with a valid visa from either the US, Canada, Japan, UK, Australia, New Zealand or Schengen countries, you will breeze into Taiwan without an additional visa; just an online entry application is needed.
One of the highlights of the Taiwan Travel Fair was the DIY booths managed by the Association of Leisure Farms of Taiwan, teaching kids and other creative individuals craft-making, an activity very popular in the Leisure Farms. Many queued up for the rice noodles and red kidney soup.
Combining Taiwan’s international religious festivals, folk activities, sports events, innovative craft activities, and other events, the Taiwan Tourism Bureau has produced the Taiwan Tourism Events Calendar composed of 42 international events (visit http://timefortaiwan.tw/events) that embrace the distinctive features of cities and counties across the main island of Taiwan and its outlying islands. Included in these events are the spectacular New Year’s Eve Celebration (mid December to January 2014), the bustling and colorful Taiwan Lantern Festival (February), the thrilling Xiuguluan River Rafting Activity (June), and the romantic “Love in Alishan – Wedding under Sacred Tree†(October) event, plus a variety of other exciting events that give tourists plenty of reasons to visit Taiwan year-round.
