A ‘hidden’ getaway makes tourists, families seek it out

MANILA, Philippines - An award-winning resort seemingly hidden in a well-secured subdivision just 30 minutes from the Balintawak exit is making families and tourists seek it out from both ends of the North Luzon Exressway (NLEX).

The reason? Attractions.  Accessibility. Affordability.

Those are the comments of guests who have visited St. Agatha Resort & Country Club and continue to do so all these years, and they include, not just families and friends on vacation and special occasions, but also companies on team-building activities, conventions and other corporate functions.

Accredited by the Department of Tourism based on internationally recognized quality standards, St. Agatha has been hailed as the most outstanding resort and tourist destination in the 2011 Top Brand Awards.

The reasons are best experienced than told.

The resort has an 11-wave pool, 25-meter lap pool, a kiddie pool, a zip line, a hotel pavilion with one and two-bed deluxe rooms and suites, seven conference and function rooms for 20 to 800 guests, open cottages for six to 80 people, fully furnished overnight summer cottages for five to 10 people, a videoke, a native food restaurant where visitors can go fishing while dining or have their own catch cooked to their own liking, a boutique for gear and supplies, a drinking water station for refill anytime, and laundry services and other amenities, all in a  beautifully landscaped and relaxing environment.

The deluxe room has a twin bed or two single beds, toilet and hot and cold shower, cable TV, telephone and air-conditioning unit, office table, and a balcony.

The suite has a kitchenette and a living room, toilet with Jacuzzi and steam bath, two air-conditioning units, 40-inch color TV with cable, a queen-size bed, lazy boy couch, a sofa set, telephone for hotel and bistro services, and a balcony overlooking the wave pool and the landscaped greenery.

The overnight summer cottages for a maximum of five and 10 people have two or three beds, cable TVs, air-conditioning units, toilets, and dining areas.

The accommodation rates include the entrance fees to the leisure facilities.

The various facilities and accommodation packages are designed to fit everyone’s needs and budget while providing the best possible services from well-trained professional staff.

For example, the open cottages for day or night swimming offer an umbrella setting for six to 10 people, small tent for eight to 10, Nipa Hut and Hall A-E for 10 to 12, big tent for 30 to 40, the Pergola Gazebo for 50 to 60, and the Precilla Hall for 60 to 80.

The resort also offers special rates for groups of at least 50 people, and has function rooms for various special occasions, including weddings, birthdays, anniversaries, baptism, and other family and social events.

Located at St. Agatha Homes in Sta. Rita, Guiguinto, Bulacan, the resort can be reached through NLEX via the exit in Tabang or Sta. Rita and then through the Cagayan Valley Road on the way to the St. Agatha Homes, a residential subdivision where the resort is securely nestled.
