MANILA, Philippines - Shangri-La International Hotel Management Ltd. and New Riviera Hotel Development Co. Inc. have signed an addendum to extend the management contract for Traders Hotel, Manila for an additional 20 years, commencing from Jan. 1, 2015.
The signing was held at Traders Hotel, Manila recently and was attended by New Riviera Hotel Development Co. Inc. chairman Julie Benedicto, director/president and chief executive officer Kitchie Benedicto-Paulino and director/chief operating officer and general manager Pia de Leon together with Shangri-La International Hotel Management Ltd. president and chief executive officer Greg Dogan, Makati Shangri-La area manager/general manager Reto Klauser and Traders Hotel, Manila general manager Gordon Aeria.
“We are honored to have the opportunity to manage Traders Hotel, Manila and work with New Riviera Hotel Development Co. This prestigious company is known for its numerous years of experience and dedication in the Philippine hospitality industry. The hotel’s success would not be possible without the support of our stakeholders, business partners, guests, and of course our Shangri-La family,” Dogan said.
“We selected Shangri-La to manage this property because of our profound trust and friendship with the Kuok family before the hotel transpired. Aside from being top of mind among luxury hotel brands worldwide, it also has an excellent reputation in providing hospitality from the heart,” Benedicto-Paulino said.
“Our company believes in the Shangri-La vision of hospitality from a caring family. More than a business partnership, it is the close familial bond with the Shangri-La Group through the years that made us continue with this relationship in the next two decades and hopefully beyond” she added.
Shangri-La first took over management of the 312-room property in January 1995, when it was re-branded as Traders Hotel, Manila.
Conveniently located along Roxas Boulevard, overlooking the picturesque Manila Bay, the hotel offers convenient access to premier conference and exhibition facilities such as the Cultural Center of the Philippines, Philippine International Convention Center, World Trade Center, and Makati Business Center. It is near Malate, the city’s entertainment district, as well as Southeast Asia’s biggest shopping mall, SM Mall of Asia.
