Smart gives away over P1 M in prizes in tourism promo

Manila, Philippines -  Like many Filipinos, you probably enjoy posting online pictures of your travels. What if you can win half a million pesos by doing just this?

Smart Communications Inc. is giving away substantial cash prizes via the Travel More, Live More promo, in partnership with the Department of Tourism (DOT).

If you are a Smart or Talk ‘N Text subscriber, you can win P500,000 just by simply sharing pictures of your hometown, local vacation experiences, the food you have eaten, and even the people you met while traveling across the country.

There are three ways of sharing photos:

• Upload these to www.smart.com.ph/TravelMore.

• Send Smart an MMS. Just type the word “FUN” as the MMS message and send to 2927. Each MMS costs P5.

• Search for the Smart Travel More application on Facebook and use that app to upload pictures.

Your friends and relatives can help you win by visiting the photo gallery on www.smart.com.ph/TravelMore and sending “LIKE <space> the voting ID assigned to your photo” to 2927.

Remind them to register to the promo by sending “REG <space> their name / their address” to 2927 so they can win in a separate raffle for voters. (Example: REG IAN CRUZ / 9 GEN LUNA ST BRGY SAN ANTIONIO TAGUIG CITY). Each text vote will cost them P1, but registration is free.

Owners of the three photos with the highest number of votes by the end of the promo period on Nov. 5 will get P500,000, P200,000, and P100,000, respectively.

Via a raffle on Nov. 7, Smart will pick three persons from among the voters of the winning photos and give each of them P50,000.

Smart recently inked a partnership agreement with the DOT to participate in the country’s “It’s More Fun in the Philippines” tourism campaign. Among Smart’s contributions to the campaign is a television commercial showing beauty queen Shamcey Supsup traveling across the country.

“We want to encourage Filipinos to share just how fun it is to travel and live in the Philippines. The country’s tourism campaign has already shown success, with first quarter tourist arrivals increasing by 16 percent year-on-year to 1.15 million. But of course, the more people we entice to visit our beautiful islands, the better. Let’s show them that it’s more fun to ‘Live More’ in the Philippines,” said Smart’s executive vice president and Wireless Consumer Division head Emmanuel Lorenzana.

Smart is also raffling off electronic load worth nearly P450,000. Prepaid subscribers of Smart and Talk ‘N Text who have shared their photos or voted for their favorite pictures are automatically included in the daily raffle.

Another way of joining the e-load raffle is by sending “FUN <activity> is more fun in <province/city>” to 2927. (Example: FUN Diving is more fun in Batangas.) You will be charged P2.50 per text.

Subscribing to Smart’s daily travel content by sending PH to 2927 will also enable you to join the e-load raffle. Each content costs only P1.
