Visita Iglesia to Laguna churches on Holy Thursday
MANILA, Philippines - The Visita Iglesia is one of the main traditions that Catholics observe during the Lenten Season. Two things can be done at the same time by going to the right churches — offer a solemn prayer, and immerse in a culture kept alive within the walls of ancestral churches. This Holy Thursday, April 5, visit seven beautiful Catholic worship sites in the province of Laguna.
The tour takes participants in air-conditioned tourist buses to the Church of St. Bartholomew in Nagcarlan; Church of St. John the Baptist in Nagcarlan, Liliw; Church of Pope St. Gregory the Great in Majyjay, a national treasure shrine; Church of St. Mary Magdalene in Magdalena; Church of St. Sebastian the Martyr in Lumban; Diocesan Shrine of St. Anthony de Padua in Pila; and the Church of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception in Sta. Cruz.
Other highlights of the tour will be a visit to the Nagcarlan Underground Cemetery, visit to a national historical landmark and shopping in Liliw.
The tour fee is P1,800 per person, inclusive of buffet lunch land transportation and the services of a DOT accredited tour guide. Limited seats are available.
