Best Western Premier F1 Hotel embraces local art

MANILA, Philippines - When Best Western Premier F1 Hotel opened its doors to the public last year, it quickly became a favorite among leisure and business travelers. For this purpose, Best Western Premier F1 Hotel commissioned Vision Arts, a group of talented artists based in Morong, Rizal. Made up of Rommel Francisco, Perfecto Palero Jr., Patrick Esmao, and William Alvarez Jr., Vision Arts has come up with paintings exclusively for the hotel. Their works have helped set the tone of the hotel’s ambience.

The group came up with a series devoted to the earth and sky. Francisco says, “The collection is composed of abstract paintings. The medium we used was acrylic since it dries easily. So once we had a work done, the hotel could easily hang them in the room.”

“When we were brainstorming about the paintings, we thought that the hotel rises from the earth up to the sky. So our works showed an upward movement, from the ground up,” explains Palero.

The foursome delivered approximately 500 paintings to Best Western Premier F1 Hotel. These are now on display in the hotel’s 243 spacious and fully furnished rooms.

“We have about 39 paintings in each floor, from first to ninth. There are 37 paintings per floor on the 10th to the 18th,” Palero says.

They are thankful to Best Western Premier F1 Hotel for giving them the opportunity to showcase the talents of local artists. Palero recalls: “We were holding an exhibit and the hotel representative approached us, informing us that the hotel needed paintings. We agreed on the motif and color, and then we buckled down to work.”

The result: a body of work that speaks of Best Western Premier F1 Hotel’s pride in its Filipino heritage. It is a pride that extends to the hospitable Filipino staff and the delicious cuisine.
