Enjoy special Chinese New Year menu sets at Hotel H20

MANILA, Philippines - To welcome the Year of the Dragon, Hotel H20 offers several special menu sets until Jan. 31 at the Makan Makan Asian Food Village.

There are five family-style set menus to choose from. The traditional Chinese “prosperity menu” consists of Peking duck, Makan Makan supreme thick soup, pansit canton guisado, steamed whole lapu-lapu with soy sauce, Makan Makan fried chicken and tikoy. The menu is good for six people and goes for only P4,888.

Lovers of spicy Thai cuisine will enjoy some of the finest Thai flavors with the special set menu that starts with Thai duck salad and prawn cake. The main courses are seafood tom yum, pad thai, green chicken curry, steamed lapu-lapu in spicy lime sauce, clay-pot glass-noodle crab, stir-fried minced pork with basil, stuffed chicken wings and Thai pineapple fried rice. All these for just P9,000 net.

For a meal that’s a tad lighter yet every bit as delectable, the “happiness menu” is ideal. It includes Peking duck done two ways, Makan Makan supreme thick soup, enoki mushroom with broccoli flower and oyster sauce, crispy cereal prawns, whole lapu-lapu in sweet and sour sauce, sotanghon crab, Makan Makan chicken, stir-fried aromatic rice and tikoy (native Chinese sweet cake). The entire menu will satisfy 10 persons for just P9,000 net.

The “Fortune menu” is more extensive. It comprises three courses, starting with assorted cold cuts combination, bamboo fungus thick soup, silk tofu with enoki mushroom and minced meat, sotanghon crab, baked prawns, sweet and sour whole lapu-lapu, Yang chow fried rice, and tikoy. This menu is good for eight persons and costs P6,888.

Finally, really big families will delight in the “Long Life menu.” Good for 10 persons, this comprehensive set includes assorted cold cuts combination, mashed winter melon seafood, scallop thick soup, sotanghon crab, Makan Makan chicken, whole lapu-lapu in sweet and sour sauce, stir-fried three kinds of mushrooms and vegetables, pancit canton guisado, and pineapple fried rice. For all these, the bill comes up to only P7,888.
