MANILA, Philippines - Seven Spanish-era churches in the province of Bulacan are featured in a unique Lenten Visita Iglesia on Maundy Thursday, April 21.
The tour takes participants in air-conditioned tourist buses to the 17th century stone-hewn San Ildefonso Church in Guiguinto; the historic Barasoain Church (a National Landmark) in Malolos; Sta. Ana Church (a National Shrine) in Hagonoy; St. John the Baptist in Calumpit which is one of the oldest churches in the country; San Isidro Labrador in Pulilan; 18th-century Renaissance-style San Agustin Church in Baliwag; and St. James the Apostle Church in Plaridel.
Pasalubong shopping in Malolos and Baliwag are included in the itinerary. The tour fee is only P1,600 per person, inclusive of buffet lunch.
