Macau unveils new look at Travel Expo

MANILA, Philippines - Visitors to the 2011 Travel Tour Expo, which will be held on Feb. 18-20, will bear witness to Macau’s modern, vibrant and exciting look.

With the theme “Glitzy and Glamorous Macau,” the colorful booth will showcase the latest developments in the city, even as it continues to highlight heritage sites that have become its major tourist draws.

The new additions to the city’s popular attractions include the House of Dancing Water, the Panda Pavilion, and Cirque du Soleil’s new version of ZAIA.

The slogan of the Macau Government Tourist Office (MGTO)-Philippines, “Experience Macau,” will be incorporated into the booth’s design that will feature, among others, stiltwalkers and human statues.

The booth’s staffers will be wearing Portuguese, Chinese and gondolier costumes, reminding visitors that Macau is the result of the blending of two rich and exciting cultures, from the West and the East. Expo visitors can have their pictures taken with the costumed staffers, free of charge.

Local travel agencies offering affordable Macau tour packages will be distributing promotional materials. Those who will purchase these packages during the three-day expo will receive Macau souvenir items from the MGTO staff upon presentation of proof of purchase.

Travel trade vendors from Macau will also be around to meet with their Philippine counterparts, for possible tie-ups and business arrangements.

The impressive Macau booth will occupy spaces 410-415, right at the entrance to the expo.
