Corniche at Diamond Hotel...Where life meets food

MANILA, Philippines –  Diamond Hotel Philippines opens another unique dining concept after a multimillion-peso investment.

Corniche is a notch above other hotel restaurants with its combination of beautifully appointed facilities, elegant interiors, cuisines of the world, and impeccable service.

The word “corniche” is a French word that typically refers to a road on the side of a cliff or ledge. Diamond Hotel is located on a famous esplanade, the Roxas Boulevard parallel to a waterfront promenade, which is a road on the side of a ledge or coast. Hence, the new restaurant was named Corniche.

Corniche is located at the hotel’s lobby level and the 650-square-meter space can accommodate up to 210 guests.

The drama unfolds when the guest experiences the various moods created in the restaurant from the play of lights, wide spaces and outdoor ambiance, merging to create breathtaking day and night experiences. 

Through the use of materials like timber, polished metals and acrylics, Corniche maintains the hotel lobby’s overall theme and emerges into the next phase of the hotel’s lifespan in a chic environment with contemporary overtones and refreshing furniture styles.

By day serving as coffee shop, the restaurant has the flexibility to transform itself into a sophisticated intimate evening venue through custom-designed lighting, scene settings and the ability to create private niches for large and small parties. The pockets of various seating areas provide different experiences, making every visit a journey of discovery.

Suspended over the central area is the focal point of the outlet — “Migrating Birds” — which is a fusion of glass and metal. The custom-designed chandelier draws inspiration from the magnificent full height windows offering a scenic view of the garden and water features beyond.

Highlighted by the lushly landscaped garden view and picturesque rock formation with a cascading waterfall, Corniche showcases an exceptional buffet of different culinary selections from the Asian, Western and Japanese to the salad and dessert stations. All dishes are meticulously prepared by culinary experts headed by Executive Chef Nickolai Stoyanov.

Featuring signature cakes and pastries for dining and take-out orders is a cake shop at the Corniche entrance.

Corniche was designed by award-winning interior design firm FBEye International, Singapore which specializes in hotel, food and beverage, luxury residential and yacht design.

Designer Warren Foster-Brown’s concept was inspired by the elements of nature, reflected by the bird chandelier, hues of the interiors and the materials used for the furniture. 

Uniforms were created by fashion designer Francis Libiran to complement the stunning interiors of Corniche.
