Tiger Airways appoints TripleStar as GSA in RP
SINGAPORE - Tiger Airways Singapore has appointed TripleStar Travel and Tours as its general sales agent (GSA) for the Philippines to enhance access for its customers.
As Tiger Airways’ GSA, TripleStar will market seats to Filipino travelers and businesses.
TripleStar, a prominent inbound travel agency in the Philippines with more than 15 years of experience in the local travel industry, has one of the widest distribution networks throughout the country.
It intends to open the first dedicated Tiger Airways retail ticketing office at the SM City Clark Mall in the third quarter.
TripleStar also has retail outlets in Manila, Makati and Cebu.
Rosalynn Tay, managing director of Tiger Airways Singapore, said, “The Philippines is an important market for Tiger Airways. Our flights have received strong support and there is strong potential for further growth. With Tiger being represented by the country’s leading agent, our customers in the Philippines will gain greater access to our low, low fares.”
“At the same time, this will help us reduce our distribution costs, and allow us to pass on cost savings and keep offering the lowest possible fares,” Tay added.
Tiger Airways currently operates a daily flight between Singapore and Clark, which is a short bus ride away from Manila. By operating out of a lower cost airport, this route has enabled travelers to take advantage of Tiger’s low fares since April 2005.
“We are pleased to partner with Tiger Airways. With our extensive network reaching both wholesale and retail customers in the Philippines, we are well positioned to bring Tiger’s low fares to more travelers. We also look forward to establishing dedicated retail outlets for Tiger Airways,“ said Delza Gochoco, president and general manager of TripleStar.
TripleStar was created and spun off two years ago out of South East Asian Airlines (SEAIR) tour desk services. It introduced the popular Leisure Escape Packages (LEP) of SEAIR.
LEP offers holiday packages to the most beautiful vacations spots in the Philippines. It offers a holistic approach to travel, making its clients’ holiday experience convenient, practical and unique.
“The TripleStar-Tiger Airways partnership is good news for the local travel industry. This means more opportunities for travel to and from the Philippines,” said Teresita Henderson, chairman of Intas Destination, a renowned inbound tour operator.
