Peace and harmony in Heritage Christmas storytelling

MANILA, Philippines - The Heritage Hotel recently celebrated a meaningful holiday for its guests composed of children and entire families as ABS-CBN’s Marc Logan led the storytelling of “The Child Who Dreamt of Peace” by children’s book author Bimbo Papasin, associate producer of ABS-CBN’s News and Public Affairs.

The timely children’s story of “The Child Who Dreamt of Peace” highlighted the message of peace, love, hope and compassion in a multi-ethnic society.

The story narrates the perspective of Aliyah, a young Muslim girl who is fond of flowers. Her once peaceful community was distressed by war, which displaces her family and neighbors from the comfort of their homes.

Through her offering of flowers, Aliyah becomes an instrument of peace for Muslim and Christian communities in Mindanao.

“The children’s storytelling is part of our corporate social responsibility program. We aspire to inculcate the love of reading among children and instill in the hearts and minds of these future leaders of the country that it’s important to honor the dignity and sanctity of every human life, care for others and promote multi-cultural understanding and tolerance,” said Eddie Yeo, general manager of Heritage Hotel.

“Peace begins in the homes of families. We hope that parents will continue to be good role models so that through their example, they will be able to teach children the value of forgiveness, understanding and unity,” Logan said.

During the activity, children had access to the book signing of Papasin. Moreover, they were also treated to a multi-spectrum buffet and light and fun moments with the special appearance of Nestle Chuckie, face painting, games and goodies courtesy of Hershey’s, Chips Delights, EggBites, Smileys, Magic Flakes, and Timezone.
