Macau theme park hosts international cultural, food fest

-

MANILA, Philippines - Macau Fisherman’s Wharf (MFW), Macau’s first theme park, is hosting the International Cultural and Food Festival (ICFF), started in October and will run until Jan. 24, 2010, the longest cultural and food festival series in Macau.

The ICFF features themed journeys to introduce visitors to fascinating cuisines, beer and wines, arts, crafts and activities from different regions of the world.

Macau Fisherman’s Wharf is a world-class, round-the-clock, free-admission entertainment complex, which is rapidly emerging as a popular landmark for both Macau citizens and tourists in search of the vibrant and the new.

It has an area of 111,500 square meters and is just a five-minute walk from the Macau-HK Ferry Terminal.

“We have great expectations for this kaleidoscopic food festival and hope it will develop into an annual event, similar to the Food Festival of Singapore,” said YT Oor, deputy chief operating officer of Macau Legend Development Ltd., which operates the complex.

The ICFF opened with the Greater China Cultural and Food Fest which featured the delectable cuisines of China’s provinces, as well as its arts and crafts, dances and games.

The Beer, Wine and Seafood Fest, which followed, gave visitors the opportunity to discover some of the world’s great wines and seafood dishes.

The event also featured wine dinners and seminars, and a beer competition with top Grand Prix riders.

The Pan-Asia Cultural and Food Fest, which runs on Jan. 13-14, 2010, will showcase the best in Pan-Asia cuisine, cooking shows, live musical performances, and a fashion show.
