Let loose in Lakbay TV’s ‘Pack N* Roll’

Take a happy bunch from the local alternative music scene, send them off to and let them loose in the country’s summer capital, and what do you get? You get a jam-packed, anything-goes, almost madcap Baguio weekend in a trippy travel show.

Lakbay TV, the country’s premiere travel channel, proudly introduces PACK N* ROLL, a 30-minute guide on the ins and outs of packing bags and loading suitcases, getting away, going somewhere, and having a rockin’ good time.

There’s loads of information here about destinations, what to do and who to meet there. And while it gives you the facts, both big and small, it lets you take a peek on the sometimes peculiar but always amusing travel pursuits of some of today’s wackiest breed of travelers.

First off in the PACK N* ROLL itinerary is Awit Awards nominee Itchyworms frolicking in the City of Pines – without even going horseback riding! Instead, the quartet of Jugs "Eric" Jugueta (lead vocals and guitars), Chino Singson (guitars and vocals), Kelvin Yu (bass and vocals) and Jazz Nicolas (drums and vocals) head for a broader exploration, a newer, fresher approach in living it up in Baguio City.

This Beatles-influenced group responsible for radio favorites like Happy Birthday, Antipara and Bituwin, and whose debut album is entitled Little Monsters Under Your Bed for no apparent reason, goes beyond the usual Baguio fanfare in this special two-part pilot.

Driving to neighboring Benguet, they come to experience the thrill of the underground at the Balatoc Mines Tour. They hobnob with the Baguio Arts Guild at Tam-awan Village, invade the home of Philippine-based British visual artist Peter Pinder, and render a spontaneous live performance at a party. All the while in between, they get a taste of some of the most delectable gastronomical concoctions the city can offer.

And because there was still time for it, the ’worms treated themselves to some good old-fashioned Baguio fun, from childlike antics at Burnham Park to showy, Armageddon-inspired walks along Session Road.

So inject some rock n’ roll into your travels and watch out for this two-part pilot of PACK N* ROLL, coming soon on the country’s premiere travel channel.

Lakbay TV is shown exclusively on SkyCable and Home Cable.
