A year in ‘Supreme’ covers

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - As 2016 wraps up, we look back at some of our most memorable stories: From reel to real — Supreme got Jadine to admit to their relationship. Charo Santos-Concio made her Supreme debut, fresh from the historic Venice Film Festival win of Ang Babaeng Humayo. Jaclyn Jose became the first Filipina to win a Best Actress award from the Cannes Film Festival, and she gave us her first cover feature. Our fearless forecast came true: Vice President Leni Robredo ended up being the last woman standing. We flew to Davao without a guaranteed interview and came back with Baste Duterte’s first — and possibly last — in-depth interview. Using an iPhone, we photographed Hidilyn Diaz in Brazil after she bagged the first Olympic medal for the Philippines in 20 years. What a year!
